Game Review
Barry Bryant (ankle) was replaced in the selected side by Bill ArchSt Kilda's inaccuracy in front of goal - especially after half-time - cost them dearly. They had six more scoring chances than the Blues, but lost by four points.
Despite showing promise, Des Lyons, a big barrel-chested forward from country NSW, turned his back on VFL football after this game and returned home, while Carlton sat sixth on the ladder with a loss, a win and a draw in the first three rounds.
