Carlton rover Rod Ashman has shot to the lead in the Inside Football Player of the Year, following his match-winning performance against Geelong at Kardinia Park on Saturday. Ashman collected 18 kicks, five handpasses, seven marks and kicked three goals to keep the Blues in the game and eventually guide them to a narrow win. It was Ashman's third best-on-ground this season. Ashman's teammate Ken Hunter was also prominent and received votes for fine game in defence. - Inside Football Player of the Year.
