G. Robertson

Challenge Cup Competition
Career: 1866

Origins of Australian Football Vol 5 has a player named Robertson playing for Carlton in 1865

1866 May 05
G. Robertson was named in the 25 man Vice President's team vs the President's team practice match.

This could be G. P. Robertson.
The Herald July 09 1927 (p17) said;
"G. P. Robertson, one of the identities of the Carlton Cricket and Football Clubs for many years, played for Oxford in 1866 and in the following year was in the Victorian eleven.
He is deserving of some honor in Australian cricket, for, with the late R. W. Wardill, he was responsible for the first century partnership in first class cricket in this country. This was 113 for the fourth Victorian wicket in that match against New South Wales."

Not to be confused with George Robertson who was also involved with both the Carlton Football and Cricket Clubs who was born in 1855 and too young to be playing in the mid 60's.
