Game Review

Carlton's winning run extended to seven straight after this clinical win over the tenth-placed Tigers at Princes Park. Tom Carroll's four goals gave him 42 for the season - still five behind Doug Wade - while the Blues moved up to second on the ladder behind Essendon, thanks to Geelong's surprise win over the inconsistent Melbourne.

Rover Bruce Williams was one of Carlton's best players. Peter Barry at full-back and John James in the pocket defended capably, as did Wes Lofts at centre half-back. Serge Silvagni once again proved clever in the ruck and soild around the ground, while Gordon Collis took charge at centre half-forward. - Football Record.
